A Keg Party with a 5K warm up!
We will be rockin' in the D again....someday!
NOTE ABOUT THE 2020 EVENT!
Thank you for your patience, Hightailers, as we continue work our way through a totally unprecedented situation for our business, and the entire world. We know that everybody is searching for answers, and we promise to keep you as up to date on what is going on as we possibly can. The virus at hand has been making day to day decision making difficult as things change hour by hour. We know what a frustrating time this has been for everybody and we are not ignoring you!
As you may have heard, the CDC has officially recommended that all gatherings of 50 people or more for the next 8 weeks be canceled or postponed. While this is not the news we were hoping for, we have to consider the vulnerable population and encourage adherence to social distancing. We’re committed to assisting the country in reducing introduction of the virus into new communities and slow the spread of infection.
As of today, the 2020 Hightail to Ale is officially postponed. We will still be holding the 2020 Hightail to Ale. Please bear with us as we work with the City of Detroit, Atwater Brewery and all appropriate parties involved to select our new race date. It will be in summer of 2020 and we will let everybody know through all available channels as soon as we know the date! You will know the date within minutes of us knowing, no new information is being withheld!
OK, so what are my options for the 2020 Hightail to Ale?
You will have 3 options moving forward. Please do not panic – you do not need to make a decision today. In fact you can’t make a decision today. Please read through your options carefully. NO ACTION IS REQUIRED AT THIS TIME!
Option 1 – Participate in the 2020 Hightail to Ale! We will have the new Hightail to Ale date to you soon! This option requires absolutely no action.
Option 2 – If the new 2020 date does not work for your schedule but you still want to be a part of Hightail (and who wouldn’t!?) we will offer (FOR 2020 ONLY) the option to participate virtually! The virtual race can be done any time at any location. Shirts and medals would be mailed to participants the week following the physical event. There would still be virtual results and we would send out a link to submit results closer to race day. After a 2020 postponement date has been selected we will create a 2020 Hightail to Ale VIRTUAL race event on Facebook so you can keep up with all the fun, participate in contests and win prizes. PLEASE NOTE: The Hightail to Ale virtual race option would not include shipping a pint glass. You would have the option to pick up your pints at any of the physical event packet pick ups, or from a Running Fit location. These would not be available until after the event, and would only remain available for pick up for 1 month.
Option 3 – If the 2020 date does not work for you and you are feeling iffy about participating virtually, we will allow deferrals to the 2021 Hightail to Ale on May 14th, 2021. Deferring to 2021 would make Thirsty 3 Participants ineligible for their 2020 prize. The deferral would only apply to your Hightail to Ale entry, not your entire series. We are unable to offer deferrals for Running Between the Vines and Scrumpy Skedaddle.
Please know that we are doing our best to make the most informed decisions we can at this time. As soon as a new 2020 date is selected we will send along links to make any changes to your registration, and any updated information we have at that time.
Please be kind and patient to those around you in this time of uncertainty.
We’ll see you at Hightail (at some point ),
Your Faithful Brew Crew!
PS: there is no need to reply to this post, call us, or e-mail us. We will continue to update you every time we know any new information in regard to the 2020 Hightail to Ale Race. We don’t have minute to minute answers, but we pride ourselves on putting on events that are worth your time and entry money, and we will be as transparent as we possibly can each day going forward!
It gets no better, a Friday evening (It’s true! It’s not a typo!) race and party!
You get a Beer, a fast scenic riverfront course, a custom pint glass, custom t-shirt and a classy finisher’s medal,
In addition, there will be a big fun crowd, food trucks and music from the bluesy and soulful Detroit band, “Easy Now”.
Lots of good times! Did we mention beer?
Round up your running buddies and bring a group!
We can’t wait to RUN and RAISE a glass with YOU!
